When Capital BlueCross opens its new Capital Blue store this summer in the up-and-coming Hampden Marketplace in Hampden Township, the store will not only provide patrons with inspiration to live healthy -- it will also please their palates.

A full weekend of entertainment at the Harrisburg Midtown Arts Center's (H*MAC) "Stage on Herr" is planned to celebrate the milestone opening of H*MAC's new eatery, "The Kitchen." Harrisburg Mayor Eric Papenfuse will kick off the celebration at 10:00am on Friday, May 15th with an official ribbon cutting for the new Southern-inspired restaurant along with its "Gallery Bar" and outdoor beer garden that will include an extensive lineup of craft beers and other reasonably priced offerings. Doors will open to the public at 4:00pm. For 3rd in the Burg, Red Up the Room -- an exhibit of red-themed artworks by local artists – will be on display in "Stage on Herr," "The Kitchen," and "Gallery Bar."

Cumberland County, PA - The Cumberland County Office of Aging and Community Services (A&CS) is the recipient of the Pennsylvania Department of Aging’s 2015 Excellence in Nutrition for Older Pennsylvanians and Best Practice Award. Terry Barley, Executive Director, accepted the award on behalf of A&CS at a recent award ceremony.  At their public meeting, the Commissioners presented a Certificate of Special Recognition to Mr. Barley on behalf of the department.

Harrisburg, PA – PennDOT  announced that starting Tuesday, April 28, ramp closures will be implemented at the Interstate 83, Route 581 Interchange for overnight asphalt paving on the ramps to I-83 South. These ramps will be closed and detoured between 9 PM and 6 AM the following morning.

HARRISBURG – Well-known economist Elliot Eisenberg, Ph.D., will be the luncheon keynote speaker on May 7 during the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency's Housing Forum at the Hilton Harrisburg. Eisenberg will speak about economic trends in Pennsylvania, with a special emphasis on the housing market.
