On Saturday, April 13, 2013, the grand opening was held for the new electronics recycling site in West Hanover Township in Dauphin County. The recycling drop-off site is located at 402 N. Fairville Avenue in Harrisburg, and will be open from 8 AM – 3 PM on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
To help residents comply with the PA State Covered Device Recycling Act 108, the new electronics recycling law, they will be able to drop off unwanted electronics such as computers, televisions, cell phones, microwave ovens, mercury thermostats and more at this site.
In addition to the new recycling site, the Dauphin County Solid Waste Management and Recycling department also operates and services 10 voluntary recycling drop-off centers throughout Dauphin County. Dauphin County also provides resources online about composting, curbside, recycling, hazardous waste information, and more. Information and resources can be found on the Solid Waste Management and Recycling page on DauphinCounty.org.
