On Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at 7 p.m., celebrate the history of the borough of Gettysburg by enjoying the Independence Day Parade in downtown Gettysburg. The parade will include people and events that shaped Gettysburg into what it is today, such as Betty Ross, Benjamin Franklin, and President Abraham Lincoln to name a few. Also participating in the parade will be the South Mountain Antique Tractor Club, Penn Trafford High School Band, Adams County Apple Queen, United States Fife & Drum Corp, and more.
The parade will assemble in the middle school parking lot on Lefever Street, proceed west on Middle Street, turn south onto Baltimore Street, then follow Steinwehr Avenue to the area of Gen. Pickett’s Buffet. Fireworks will go off at 10 p.m. at the Gettysburg Rec Park on Long Lane after the parade.
