Every first Friday of the month, Lancaster holds First Fridays, where people can walk the streets of Lancaster and visit participating art galleries, artisan studios, museums, performing groups, professional theater, the symphony orchestra, and art college. On Friday, July 5, 2013, from 5—9 p.m., there will be innovative exhibitions and performances open for a wide variety of gallery walk and driving routes.
A guide is available online to be downloaded with a handy First Friday program and map every month. The website offers seven gallery walks and driving routes already mapped out as well. The routes include the Backstage Walk, with theatres, galleries and music venues, the Gallery Row Walk with galleries, performing arts centers, and the PA College of Art and Design, the Market Square Walk with galleries, Central Market, the Musser Park Walk with galleries, museums, and coffee shops, the South of King Drive with historic walking tour, artists’ workshop, and galleries, the Uptown Walk with galleries, boutiques, architectural salvage and vendors, and restaurants, and the West End Drive with galleries, museums, bookstores, and boutiques.
