On November 12, 2013, the PA National Guard assisted the Harrisburg Area Riverboat Society in removing the Pride of the Susquehanna from the river for the winter, which officially marked the end of the Riverboat’s 2013 season. During the winter, the Riverboat Society has many things to do in order to fix up, refurbish, and clean the Pride so she will be at her best for the 2014 season.
The ship is over 25 years old and is in need of many repairs and upgrades. To help the non-profit organization continue to offer a variety of affordable and unique activities for the community, the Riverboat Society is offering some great offers for the holiday season to help raise funds for the ship.
The Pride of the Susquehanna is offering an array of gift certificate options for their many entertaining cruises that will make great gifts, as well as Friends of the Pride Memberships, Season Passes and more.
Also for this year, the Pride is offering limited edition, hand-painted, truly one of a kind glass blown ornaments, made by Kurt Adler of New York City. Only 500 ornaments have been made, so once they’re gone, they’re gone! The ornaments, as well as other Pride of the Susquehanna merchandise can be found in the online store.
