On Saturday, June 21, 2014, Shippensburg Arts Programming Education (SHAPE) will be hosting their 9th Annual SHAPE Solstice Arts Festival at the Shippensburg Township Park, located at 304 Britton Road. All day long during this free festival, there will be artists displaying, selling and demonstrating their work. Some of the art will include pottery, glass blowing, fiber arts, painting, photography, jewel-crafting, and sculpture. There will also be live music and entertainment throughout the day on the amphitheater stage.
An Eco-Village will be set up, where organizations will promote green, sustainable living and environmental awareness. There will also be a Wellness Circle where guests can learn about natural health and wellness organizations as well as activities and foods to keep vibrant and in good health. A kids’ area will feature a tent filled with art projects and face painting, and there will be an art wall, where anyone and everyone who attends can paint and contribute to the community art project.
SHAPE is a non-profit, all volunteer organization, located at 20 West King Street in Shippensburg that is dedicated to bringing the arts, art classes and workshops, and cultural events to Shippensburg and the surrounding area.
